The Outsiders is a classic novel that has been around for 50 years. It was the inspiration for a very popular Hollywood movie. It is essentially a story of friendship and belonging. Ponyboy is the main characters. He has two brothers, Darry and Sodapop. They sometimes get in trouble with the Socs (a troublesome gang of rich kids). The Socs beat up on “greasers” such as Ponyboy. One night one of the boys takes things too far. The book is an entertaining coming of age story.
