We begin with the standard Marvel Studios Intro. This time with images of Stan Lee who sadly past away in November 2018. Stan Lee was Marvel's Creative Leader for two important decades. Stan co-created/wrote numerous fictional characters including: Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and Ant-Man among many others. I will miss Stan Lee's famous Cameo's that he used to do within the Marvel movies.

We see images of what appears to be a spaceship crash. Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (played wonderfully by Brie Larson) is injured, she has blue blood. We then cut to Hala, the capital of the Kree Civilization. has a practice fight with her male mentor Yon-Rogg (played well by Jude Law). Brie Larson plays a very beautiful Captain Marvel! Yon-Rogg says to Captain Marvel "I want you to be the best version of yourself" The "Super Intelligence" (a digital brain of some sorts) chats to Captain Marvel. Marvel then says she wants to serve in the Kree army.

The "Scroll" are another civilization that are currently taking over a few planets. Scrolls can change their face and body appearance. They are now on Kree territory. An army crew (Yon-Rogg, Captain Marvel and others) go underwater to make some enquiries. They see some starving locals but they are actually Scrolls. A scroll (Talos played brilliantly by Ben Mendelsohn) abducts Marvel. Marvel is locked up and semi-conscious. The Scroll are inspecting her brain memories. It's a really cool sequence.

Marvel remembers that she was in an earthly army. We see a memory of her partying with friends. Talos can change her eye sight from within the memory. They focus on the name tag of a woman general that was her earlier mentor, "Lawson". Marvel then escapes he clutches of the Scrolls. They had locked up her arms but she melts the locking device off with her electric force from her fists.

Brie Larson appears to have some real combat skills in real life. This helps with authenticity of her role as Captain Marvel. She escapes the Scroll spaceship and then falls down a long distance to Earth. She lands on a Blockbuster store hehe. It appears to be the 90's. She speaks to a security guard, she thinks she's on another planet.

The Scrolls arrive on earth by sea. The scrolls change their bodies and face to human form. The Kree call earth "C53" and they say that it's a real shit hole hehe. Meanwhile Captain Marvel is having problems with the police. "Witnesses say she was dressed for laser tag" says a police office. The police has called SHIELD in to investigate. Nick Fury (a young version of Nick played excellently by Samuel L. Jackson) turns up. There is also a Scroll trying to kill her. She escapes and enters a bus where she see's a grandmother (which is really a Scroll). It's funny when she fights the grandmother hehe.

A Scroll ends up being in the passenger seat to Nick Fury posing as a SHIELD agent. The scroll unveils himseld. He fights Nick Fury and the car crashes. Marvel searches the web via "Alta Vista" (pre google) hehe. You know it's the 90's. Marvel steals a motorbike and dresses in normal clothing. Nick Fury analyses the scroll body. The boss of Fury (Keller) appears to be a Scroll himself! (Talos).

Marvel says that Scrolls don't have old memories of their victims. She wants to prove Nick Fury isn't a scroll. She says to Nick "Tell me a memory so bizarre a scroll would never say it". Nick then says "If toast is cut diagonally I can't eat it" HAHAHA! That's one of the funniest lines in the movie! Then he says "Everybody calls me Fury. My mother, my staff". They enter SHIELD premises. They are after info on Dr Lawson.

Fury plays with a cat hehe. They are under observation in a SHIELD room. Nick Fury escapes by getting a fake fingerprint using tape to obtain a finger print mark on a card the security guard left. It's a cool scene. On the next door, Captain Marvel blasts it with her powerful electrically charged arms. Nick then says "you watched me play with tape when all u had to do is..." hehe. They then search for records and find out that Larson is dead from a crash. Yon-Rogg said earlier that Lawson was a Kree. Nick Fury lets Keller into the complex not knowing he is Talos the Scroll.

But Fury doesn't trust him from the get go because he called him Nicholas hehe. Nick tells Keller false memories and finds out he's a Scroll. Nick Fury fights Keller/Talos. Marvel shows up and blasts Talos. Agent Coulson (young version) from previous Marvel movies shows up, he lets them go. Marvel and Nick Fury enter a fighter plane. The cat also gets in. Fury playing with the kitty is very funny hehe.

They land in a farm and visit a house from her memories. There is a woman and her daughter that recognise her as Carol Denvers. They show her photos. "I'm gonna put those ugly ass scroll brains on the wall" says Nick Fury. Talos shows up at this house and holds the daughter hostage. He tells everybody that he wants to analyse more of Captain Marvel's memories. He explains himself and lets go of his hostage. The memory is about Lawson and her spaceship crash. In the memory Lawson tells her she's a Kree. Marvel shoots the energy core of the spaceship with her gun and there is a massive blast. She goes flying and instead of getting injured she absorbs the power of the energy core. So Marvel finds out she's not a born Kree.

Talos says the energy core would have powered a spaceship that the Scroll would use to escape, to finally find a home. Talos explains that the Scroll have been on the run since they lost their home planet. People thought they were evil but they are just trying to find a new host planet. Captain Marvel and Nick Fury understand. There is a meeting between Talos, Nick Fury and the other scrolls. They decide to find the energy core. Marvel changes the colour of her suit, it is the traditional colours of Captain Marvel! hehe.

Yon-Rogg says "She knows" in reference to the fact that the Kree are committing a crime. Captain Marvel's crew arrive in a spaceship that contains the energy core (also known as the Teseract). Marvel finds it. Talos says hello to his extended family that have been here for 6 years. Then the Kree show up! They are also after the core/Teseract. They hold down Marvel and place the Teseract next to her. The Teseract is sapping all the energy from her.

Captain Marvel starts remembering things. Dr Lawson saying that "The Kree saved you, gave u your powers. You were just a human". Then she gathers the stength to turn the sapping off!!! The kitty (who now we know is an alien) swollows the Teseract with octopus tentacles coming out of its mouth! "Good kitty" says Nick Fury hehee.

Marvel fights the Kree in some great hand to hand combat. Nick tells Talos that the cat has the Teseract. The spaceship on spaceship action is awesome. The Kree have their own spaceships. Great sound effects and visuals. Then there is a third party interested in the Teseract. They send they're ships down their to defeat Marvel. But Marvel defeats them. The third party then leaves and says "We'll be back for the weapon... the core... the woman".

Back on earth its Marvel vs Yon-Rogg. "Prove to me you can beat me up as yourself!". He wants a fist fight. She ends up blasting him with her powerful arms hehe. She doesn't want to destroy him. She sends him home with a shuttle. Marvel says "I'm not sending you home empty handed, I'm sending them a message, I will end the war". Back in the house, Marvel says she'll help the Scrolls find a home. She also says to keep the Teseract on earth. Marvel gives Nick Fury a comms device so he can communicate with her at anytime. Marvel says goodbye to the mother and daughter that knew her. Marvel flies off.

Back in SHIELD headquarters Agent Coulson says to Nick "Is it true that the Kree burned your eye out because u refused to give them the teseract?". Nick Fury says "I can't deny or approve that". We see Nick Fury typing a document.

"Brie Larson as Captain Marvel has a strong lean build and has been clearly working out for this movie. She is very beautiful, having plenty of charm and a good sense of humour. Samuel L. Jackson provided the majority of the comic relief. There were some hilarious moments!"
Ben Mendelsohn as Talos/Keller excelled as a dynamic character that begins by being a villain and then turns into a good guy. Jude Law as Yon-Rogg also did brilliantly. The villains in most movies are defined early on but in this movie there are a lot of twists and turns that leave you wondering. I liked that. Enjoy the entertaining 2hrs 4min.
