The way the team comes together is awesome. Chris Pine plays a young Captain Kirk with Zachary Quinto playing Spock. The two have conflicting personalities but they play off each other well. Now that I have seen this first film, I couldn't have picked any other two actors for these two roles. For that matter, the whole team should stay too.

The ensemble casts also includes; Leonard Nemoy (original Spock), Zoe Saldana (Uhura), John Cho (Zulu), Anton Yelchin (Chekov), Bruce Greenwood (Captain Pike) and Erica Bana (Nero).

The beginning sequence in space is fascinating. Here we are introducted into the main villain (Nero) who has been wronged by the Spock of the future in a space confrontation. Nero has come back to the present to seek revenge. It seems complex but you'll get it when you see the movie. Eric Bana plays Nero to perfection.

"Although ruthless, with this villain you do see his side of the coin which is rare in Sci Fi or any action movies. The villain here has some reason behind his actions. This is the glue that makes this movie captivating"

It teaches you that misunderstandings, particularly in space may have dire consequences for planets and the relationships between their peoples.

Most J.J. Abrams films are exhilerating and their plots are well written. This movie is no exception. You will also see that in subsequent Star Trek movies that Directors have respected J.J's original tone. What a re-boot! Enjoy the 127 minutes.
