This movie is about three actors (that are in cowboy movies) that accept an invitation to a Mexican village. The three actors are called "The Three Amigos". The girl that invited them thinks that they are real cowboys and she wants them to save her village! But the Three Amigos think they are just there to perform in a movie set! When they arrive they act all silly and do their performance not realising that these men are real bandits. The awesome cast includes: Steve Martin as Lucky Day, Chevy Chase as Dusty Bottoms, Martin Short as Ned Nederlander, Alfonso Arau as El Guapo, Tony Plana as Jefe, Patrice Martinez as Carmen, Jorge Cervera jr. as Bandito #1 (as Jorge Cervera), Kai Wulff as German, Abel Franco as Papa Sanchez, Fred Asparagus as Bartender, Jon Lovitz as Morty, Joe Mantegna as Harry Flugleman, Philip Gordon as Rodrigo, Michael Wren as Cowboy and Gene Hartline as Silent Movie Bandito.
Martin Short, Steve Martin and Chevy Chase were in their prime in this movie. There is silly humour through out the movie. There are some laugh out loud moments. This movie can be enjoyed by people of all ages. My favourite scenes are when the Three Amigos play up in the town thinking that there going to shoot a movie and they don't realise that this is real life and the bandits are real hehehe. The supporting cast also did great. El Guapo (played by Alfonso Arau) was the villain and he was also hilarious. The set design of the village was also very well done.
