This movie is about a shy teenager who dreams of escaping her small town. Singing is her ticket out. She is assisted by an unlikely mentor. She then enters a local singing competition. Her talent and ambition is tested. The movie has a pop soundtrack and can be described as a kind of Cinderella story.
